We will be assisting Connecting for Good with donating and setting up computers to residents at Pemberton Park in Kansas City. Volunteers are needed to help the residents with the required paperwork and another group of volunteers to help carry the computers to their apartment and hook them up. They are looking for as many as 36 volunteers in total.
Connecting for Good’s mission is to bridge the digital divide that exists in Kansas City. They do this using wireless Internet, community computer centers, low cost refurbished PCs and free digital life skills classes. Pemberton Park for Grandfamilies is a special project by the Housing Authority of KCMO. It is the first development in Kansas City designed specifically to serve grandparents raising their grandchildren.
