Come help homeless families find their way back home at Hillcrest Platte County by helping us sort and hang clothing donations at our new Clearance Outlet! This volunteer opportunity will take place every third Saturday of the month from 1-4 PM.
90% of the money raised through our thrift operations goes directly back to the HPC transitional housing program to help homeless families, singles and young adults right here in our community.
MISSION: HPC is a Christian non-profit organization that offers housing and supportive services for working adults and families who are homeless or insecurely housed to facilitate life-long independence.
Volunteer Opportunity: Clothing/Shoes/Misc. Items
•Possible sit down positions. Standing, bending and light lifting
•Good vision required
•Sort by separating good items
•Sort, hang or place good items on shelves or racks
•Hanging clothing on hangers. Fill rolling racks . Roll full racks out to the sales floor and transfer to the sales racks. (racks have signs that identify the different items.
•Training provided by manager, store associate or experienced volunteer
Additional Information:
•Breaks are taken as often as needed. Drinks/snacks provided.
•Volunteer forms are required to be filled out with contact information, emergency contact information and a signed release of liability.
•Unless you are regularly volunteering in a specific department on a specific team, all volunteers are required to check with a manager upon arrival to get specific directions as to where the help is needed.
•You are required to wear a name badge (provided by the manager). You are required to wear closed toed shoes, shirts, jeans or shorts.
•Rubber gloves are available if requested.
