Brighten the day of Meals on Wheels recipients by add colorful drawings and a cheerful message to their lunch bags. Simple, creative kindness for all ages.
We have markers, scissors, crayons and an assortment of supplies, but volunteers are welcome to bring additional decorating materials. Stickers are a great addition, but please avoid specific holiday themes as we do not always know how soon our bags will be used.
This event is extremely kid-friendly and we welcome you to bring guests.
We’ve also partnered with Ronald McDonald House, since we’re using their community room, to open this event up to the guests at the house. There is no charge for the use of the meeting room, but if you are able, consider bringing a donation from the Top 10 Most Needed Items List.
PARKING & ACCESS: Please park on the street to allow the families to have access to the parking lot. Longfellow House is the large green complex on the West side of the street, (there are 2 other RMH on Cherry St.). Ring the bell to be let in and ask for the community room.
Meals On Wheels provides home-delivered meals to frail and elderly homebound residents. If you’d like to volunteer to deliver meals contact the Volunteer Coordinator at JoCo Human Services, 913-715-8859 or the organization closest to you.
