Join Serve KC as we brighten the day of Meals on Wheels recipients by turning their plain brown lunch bag into a work of art. We will color on, sticker up, cut out and glue on items to lunch bags to transform them into something that will bring a smile to someone’s face.
This event is extremely child friendly so bring the little ones along with you as we decorate bags that go out to home-bound, elderly or ill, Meals On Wheels recipients.
Bring: Your creativity and a desire to have some fun are the most important things to bring! We have some basic supplies but it’s always fun to have more, especially stickers! or crayons or markers or any other art material that you can imagine. You may take your supplies home with you or donate them to the community Serve KC craft box.
Special Instructions: There are TWO Ronald McDonald Houses on Cherry, across the street from one another. One looks like an actual house and has a brick front porch on the east side. That is not Longfellow. The Longfellow building on the west side looks like an apartment complex and is green. The building is secured so please wait for someone to let you in.
Parking: The parking lot is on the south side of the building or on the street.
Meeting Room: The Community Meeting Room at Ronald McDonald House Charities’ Longfellow House.
Food & Drink: Food and drinks are allowed in the meeting room if you would like to bring snacks with you. Sodas are available in a machine for $0.25.
Cost of the Meeting Room: RMH does not charge a fee for the use of the meeting room. If you are able, we kindly ask you to bring a donation for the Ronald McDonald House. They have a top 10 most needed items wish list on the following link and also on that same link, two more hyperlinks for items to keep their pantry and general store stocked.
For the protection of the families, they request that all donated items be brand new.
