Brighten the day of Meals on Wheels recipients by turning their plain brown lunch bag into a work of art. By adding a bit of color we can bring a smile to someone’s face and it’s fun for the all ages!
BRING: Your creativity and a desire to have fun are the most important things to bring! We have markers, scissors, cryons and an assortment of supplies, but it’s always fun to have more, especially stickers! You may take your supplies home with you or donate to the Serve KC craft box.
Meals On Wheels provides home-delivered meals to frail and elderly homebound residents. If you’d like to volunteer to deliver meals between 10:45 am & noon, M-F, contact the Volunteer Coordinator at Johnson County Human Services, 913-715-8859 or reach out to the Meals on Wheels organization closest to you.
LOCATION: There are 3 Ronald McDonald Houses on Cherry. The Longfellow building is the only one on the West side of the street, it’s green and looks like an apartment complex. The building is secured so you’ll need to ring the bell and wait for someone to let you in.
PARKING: The parking lot is on the south side of the building or on the street.
FOOD & DRINK: Food and drinks are allowed in the meeting room if you would like to bring snacks with you. Sodas are available in a machine for $0.25.
DONATION: RMH does not charge a fee for the use of the meeting room, but if you are able, we kindly ask you to bring a donation for the Ronald McDonald House’s Top 10 Most Needed Items.
