Heartland Habitat BUILD

Heartland Habitat For Humanity is a wonderful nonprofit organization with a mission to provide safe, decent, affordable housing for low income families in Johnson, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas, and Clay and Platte Counties in Missouri.

BUILD Volunteers– Construction skills are not needed, but full day commitment is required starting at 8:00am-3:30pm. Volunteers need to arrive promptly to allow time to complete the waiver, receive job assignment, and attend the morning safety meeting.

AGE REQUIREMENTS– Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to work on the construction site. Under 18 must have a waiver and release form signed by a parent or guardian prior to volunteering.

     ***STRONG COMMITMENTS ONLY!***

WHAT TO BRING– Please bring any snacks or water you would like. We will have an hour for lunch so you have the option to bring a lunch or go somewhere for lunch. Volunteers are encouraged to bring work gloves. Check the weather forecast and bring things appropriate for the day – extra layer of clothing, sunscreen, rain gear, etc.

WHAT TO WEAR– Sturdy closed-toe shoe and construction appropriate clothing you don’t mind getting dirty or paint on. Safety is key, therefore no open toed shoes of any kind will be permitted.

TOOLS– Heartland Habitat will provide the needed tools.

**Please be firm with your commitment when you RSVP. Heartland Habitat plans their workdays based upon the number of volunteers they expect. If your plans change we understand, we just ask that you change your RSVP so that someone else can volunteer. Thank you!!
