Located in the middle of a food desert, The Urban Farming Guys is a testing ground for sustainable communities in areas where affordable and nutritious food is hard to access. Volunteers have done everything from building community gardens, construction, painting and renovations on the Makerspace.
We are looking forward to having a great team of volunteers on Saturday morning. We have a variety of projects every week, so please be prepared for indoor or outdoor work. We will try to post more details about specific activities close to the event date, but common tasks include gardening, organizing, cleaning, and construction. We recommend bringing gloves and a water bottle and dressing in comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.

We are starting the build to add the Aquaculture component to the 100′ growbed in the greenhouse. We’ll be doing general construction, plumbing, airlines & filtration. We can use all skill levels. Dress to be outside, though we will be in & out of the greenhouse & makerspace.

Arrival:
Our entrance is at 3704 E. 12th St., Kansas City, MO 64127. It is a red brick building on the corner of 12th and Monroe. The sign on the front says “Kansas City Art Statuary.” If you have trouble finding us call Candy Fields @ 913-220-1370. There is plenty of street parking, but please do not park in front of the automotive shop (gray& white brick) connected to our building.
If you’re late, you will find us at the greenhouse on Cleveland (just around the corner, behind the Makerspace)
