Located in the middle of a food desert, The Urban Farming Guys is a testing ground for sustainable communities in areas where affordable and nutritious food is hard to access. Volunteers have done everything from building community gardens, construction, painting and renovations on the Makerspace.
We are looking forward to having a great team of volunteers on Saturday morning. We have a variety of projects every week, so please be prepared for indoor or outdoor work. We will try to post more details about specific activities close to the event date, but common tasks include gardening, organizing, cleaning, and construction. We recommend bringing gloves and a water bottle and dressing in comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Our entrance is at 3704 E. 12th St., Kansas City, MO 64127. It is a red brick building on the corner of 12th and Monroe. The sign on the front says “Kansas City Art Statuary.” If you have trouble finding us call Ed Jenkins at 816-529-5728 or Sharon Doris at 913-669-3616. There is plenty of street parking, but please do not park in front of the automotive shop (gray brick) connected to our building.
