The Little Sisters of the Poor need our help getting their landscaping cleaned up and trees trimmed before their big June fundraiser. Volunteers will pull weeds out of flower beds, trim bushes and trees and help tidy up landscape as needed.
BRING your own gardening gloves and if you have rakes, shovels or weeding tools bring them with you. You’ll want to dress in comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. You may also want to bring a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat or head protection.
WEATHER: Please check back incase of rain or other weather as this event may be postponed if needed.
AGE REQUIREMENT: Volunteers must be 16+ to attend without an adult, but must be 18+ to use any kind of cutting or trimming equipment. Kids 10+ may attend with a parent and are asked to stay with them at all times.
The Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Center serves low-income seniors by providing quality care in a home-like setting with varying levels of care which include: independent living apartments for low-income seniors, assisted living and skilled nursing care.
The home sits on 24 acres filled with plenty of trees, flowers and a pond. Maintaining the flower beds, trees and bushes is where help is needed in preparation of the Little Sisters of the Poor annual Summer Festival Fundraiser.
