Myasthenia Gravis is a rare, chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disease that results in progressive skeletal (voluntary) muscle weakness. It affects about 1 in 5,000 people The Myasthenia Gravis Association (MGA) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those who are affected by this autoimmune, neuromuscular disease through awareness, education and member services. The Triple Crown Showdown has raised over $201,000 in the past 6 years. In 2017 there were 490 runner/walkers that participated in the event and raised more than $38,000!
Serve KC volunteers will be assigned to the Kids Area and will help with games and the Tot Trot (kids fun run for kids ages 9 and under). At this time MGA is not exactly sure what all of the games are; however, volunteers will be given instructions that morning upon arrival.
**All volunteers will be provided with a t-shirt. Please indicate the size you need in the comment section below. (Please note that this does not guarantee you a t-shirt in your requested size.)
**Attire: Casual and comfortable shoes for walking. We will be outside so dress for the weather, bring a light jacket, sweatshirt or rain gear if necessary along with sunscreen.
**Age: This is a family friendly event so please feel free to bring your child(ren). Please leave a comment on the number of children participating so that I can provide that information to the non-profit. (Kids will also be provided t-shirts so don’t forget to indicate a size)
