Kansas City Express hosts the Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk for Women as a community service project to promote women’s health through fitness. They are a 501 (c) (3) organization, affiliated with Road Runners Club of America.
Serve KC (as a group) will help with package pick-up from 7:00 am – 8:15 am. (The race starts at 8:00 am.) We will hand out shirts, tiaras, and freebie give aways.
Serve KC (as a group) will move to the food tent (which is close by) to help with food distribution until the end which should be around 10:30am. During this time we will act as host/hostess as the participates pick-up food after they have completed the walk/run.
Serve KC volunteers will receive a volunteer shirt and will be provided with water and donuts. (If you volunteered on Saturday May 7th and received a volunteer shirt please wear that for this event.)
The Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk will be held rain or shine! If there is dangerous weather, such a lightning directly overhead at start time, the Race Director may delay the start or may need to cancel the race for everyone’s safety.
Attire: Dress comfortably for an outdoor volunteer activity. Please wear comfortable shoes that you can stand in for an extended period.
