Spring Raking for Senior Citizens, Waldo area

We did this last fall (for another program) and had a lot of fun AND met some great volunteers. Now it’s time for Extreme Spring Rakeover through Jewish Family Services, a program to help senior homeowners who can no longer do their own raking. JFS provides up to 20 yard waste bags per residence, and volunteers provide the labor.

If you can bring your own rake that helps.  Also, work gloves, long sleeves, pants and closed toes shoes are recommended. We will be raking near the Waldo area, the specific address will be sent to those who RSVP when the date is near.

This is a family friendly event, so if you have a youngster who likes to help we welcome them!!!  Each volunteer (or their guardian) will need to sign a waiver before raking. Bottled water and light snacks will be provided for the rakers.

There will be several volunteer groups raking this day at different homes, as it is the final day of this program. Let’s go out there and show them what a great volunteer group we have in ServeKC:)

After our raking workout some of us will go to Waldo Pizza.  Everyone is welcome, but each person is responsible for their own food and beverage expense.
