Ronald McDonald House is closing down the street for their 10th annual Truck or Treat with a Spooktacular Street Fair! There will be carnival games, magicians, bounce houses and other Halloween treats!

Serve KC Volunteers will assist with parking, decorate cars, help with games and crafts and take turns manning the bounce houses. Setup time is from Noon-1 pm and the event goes until 3 pm.

Bring Halloween  Decorations: We’re decorating 2 Serve KC trucks so bring all of your spider webs, pumpkins, skulls, scary props and whatever else goes bump in the night to help decorate the trunks, tables and spaces.

TRAFFIC ANGELS: These volunteers will need to arrive early (11:15 am) to help direct cars into the lot before the event starts. (4 Volunteers) — Lucille, Josh, Sue, Kelly K.  

TREATS: Bring 2 bags of wrapped candy, Halloween snack packs or apples or oranges. (10 Volunteers) — Jill, Carrie, Courtney, Erika

TOYS: (10 Volunteers) Bring 20+ non-edible treats such as toys, bubbles, temporary tattoos, stickers or other goodies. US Toys is a great place to find inexpensive toys. —  Kristina, Katy, Selena, Andrea

CRAFT ITEMS:

• Fabric or tacky glue (3 Volunteers) — Sue, Selena

• Craft pom poms – variety of colors and sizes (2 Volunteers) — Tiffany, Selena

• Googly eyes – variety of sizes (2 Volunteers)  —  Jill, Selena

• Pipe cleaners – a variety of colors (3 Volunteers)  — Jill, Selena

• Scissors  (1 Volunteers)  — Sue

• Folding Table (3 volunteers) — Jill, Selena

COSTUMES are encouraged. There will be probably 30-40 groups some go ALL OUT! We try to make this fun for the families staying at RMH and surrounding neighborhood. This is a kid-friendly event so they are welcome to come and volunteer.

PARKING & MEETUP: Cherry Street will be blocked off in front of the house for the street fair so volunteers will need to park  in the Family Court lot on the corner of 26th & Cherry. There will be signs. Once you arrive at Longfellow House (large green building) the best way to find spot our group will be to look for the 4′ green monster beanbag toss game. Serve KC volunteers will also be directing traffic so you can ask them where our cars are or call Selena at 816-582-7857.
