YMCA Togetherhood Project: Bridge Home for Children Extreme Yard Makeover

The Bridge Home is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged youths, particularly teen moms and their infants, and girls ages 8-18, who are victims of abuse or neglect. The Blue Springs Togetherhood Program is looking for community volunteers to join them in dedicating a day to rejuvenating the yard space at the Bridge Home residences.

Picking up where the Togetherhood team left off last spring, volunteers will be dedicating their day to cleaning, painting, gardening and updating the Bridge Home school’s outdoor space for another great season.

The project will be held May 20th, 9:00AM-Finished.

Volunteers are asked to wear work clothes that they don’t mind getting a little dirty as well as closed toe shoes. Volunteers may also want to bring their own gloves.

Youth volunteers are welcome to come, but we ask that anyone under the age of 13 be accompanied by an adult

Water and snacks will be provided for volunteers

If the weather is looking questionable there will be a post and direct message sent to volunteers that RSVP to let them know the status of the event

If you have any further questions you can also call the YMCA Togetherhood Staff Adviser for more information:

I would highly recommend you follow the link below and watch the 4 min video.

The organizers of this particular project were recognized as the YMCA of Greater Kansas City’s Hero of The Heart Award recipients this past year. The video will help you learn about the Bridge Home project and significance it has to their Togetherhood team and the girls at the Bridge Home. This group exemplifies how everyday people can have a huge impact in the lives of others.
