The Johnson County Christmas Bureau is presenting this year’s Festival of Trees at the Holiday Boutique, November 19-22 at the Overland Park Convention Center. The Festival of Trees is a display of uniquely decorated holiday trees, wreaths and table arrangements available though silent auction. Proceeds from the Festival of Trees will help provide warmth and sustenance to around 14,000 low-income residents of Johnson County. At the annual Holiday Shop (December 3-12, Metcalf South Shopping Center), pre-qualified clients will select groceries, personal care and hosehold supplies, children’s clothing, hats, gloves, scarves, coats, toys, gifts and books for the holiday season.
Serve KC will help with donor check in and setting up the Festival of Trees display. Our work will include display assembly, loading decorations for the display, garbage collection and quality control. We have taken the 10am – 3pm slot on Tuesday, Nov. 17th.
Location and attire: Please sign in at the beginning of your shift at the Festival of Trees registration table in the lower level courtyard at the OPCC. You will receive a more specific assignment upon arrival. We recommend casual dress and comfortable shoes as you will likely be moving around a lot.
