MADMINTON is KC’s annual badminton tournament benefiting one of our favorite nonprofits Giving the Basics. We helped last year and it was a lot of fun, this year promises to be just as entertaining with crazy costumes, food/drink, music & games.
Serve KC volunteers will be selling t-shirts, run the Pick-a-Prize table, help with wristbands and share information about Giving the Basics to all attending. Volunteers will need to be comfortable talking to attendees and represent the nonprofit charity Giving the Basics.
Please arrive no later than 12:45 for a quick info session & training before the event starts. Registration opens at 1pm and play begins at 2pm.
Volunteers are encouraged to stick around and cheer on the players. There are also additional shifts posted if you’d like to stay longer or if you have some extra time we can also use help with Setup starting at 11:00am.
Giving the Basics provides products for dignity — deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper, baby wipes, trash bags, laundry detergent, etc. — that are not covered by government assistance; to people in need. Many of the local food pantries, shelters and schools benefit from the donations made to this nonprofit.
