Shawnee Christmas Around Town

Shawnee Town 1929 is a museum that is a division of the City of Shawnee’s Parks and Recreation Department. The Museum allows visitors to experience a typical day in and around the 1920s farm community of Shawnee, Kansas, through authentic collections, exhibits, programs and events. 

Serve KC volunteers will welcome visitors at the gate , collect any donations that visitors may have for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund and count the number of attendees. 

Parking is available in the parking lot outside of the Visitor’s Center, or in the parking lot directly west of the Visitor’s Center.  

Attire:  The event is outside, so depending on the weather, dress accordingly. If you want to wear something “festive” that is fine. Please wear comfortable shoes that you can stand in for an extended period. 

Age requirement – Children 10 years or older can help as long as they are accompanied by parent/adult at all times.  Please indicate in the comments if you will be bringing a child. 

Bottle water and snacks will be provided to volunteers.
